It feels good to BE HEALTHY
Naturopathic Medicine is the most gentle and natural approach to illness and wellness while viewing the body as a WHOLE integrated system. Naturopathic physicians treat by honoring Naturopathic principles that emphasize looking at a WHOLE BODY imbalance.
My goal as YOUR naturopathic doctor is for you to NOT need me for the rest of your life!
1. Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae)
The body has an inherent self-healing process that Naturopathic physicians nurture by removing modifiable barriers, such as poor diet, to optimize your health.
2. Identify & Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam)
Naturopathic physicians are trained to be very attentive to your symptoms and our first office visit is always very thorough for that exact reason. We seek to look deeper into the underlying CAUSE.
3. First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere)
Naturopathic physicians utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, avoid harmful suppression of symptoms (if possible), and always pay respect to the body's self-healing ability.
4. Doctor as Teacher (Docere)
Naturopathic physicians spend time to educate and encourage the patient to remain knowledable about their health and value a positive and honest doctor-patient relationship.
5. Treat the WHOLE person
Naturopathic physicians respect that each and every person is unique including their genetic, spirtual, emotional, and physical story. We know that every detail can significantly effect your health and do not ignore that small details can show us the bigger picture.
Naturopathic physicians spend ample time to truly get to know YOU in every way to help assess your risk factors for various conditions and to gather the right supplements, lifestyle changes, and therapies to prevent disease!
Licensed Naturopathic Doctors attend a 4 year post-bachelor’s, graduate level naturopathic medical education. Education includes all the same basic sciences as traditional medical school such as anatomy, physiology and microbiology; but NDs specialize in natural, holistic modalities of healing for the prevention of disease and the optimization of health. For a detailed description of the level of education, you can check out the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
